Chapter 13: Digitalization and Internationalization in Higher Education
Synopsis
Over the years, higher education has increasingly shifted toward digitalization, requiring the collaboration of all stakeholders. Internationalization has been a key aspect, with innovative technologies enabling universities to attract students worldwide. For instance, Université Centrale, Tunisia, developed a digital strategy encompassing online learning, intelligent teaching, student assessment, personalized learning pathways, and online examinations, resulting in a globally connected educational environment with over one hundred international students. Since 2017, the MyU platform has provided faculty and students with interactive tools, from online curriculum management to advanced tablets. Blackboard LMS further facilitates access to information, accelerates learning, and fosters interactive engagement, redefining faculty and student roles. The Medical Simulation Center complements digital learning by offering customized workshops in nursing, anesthesia, and midwifery, promoting critical thinking, practical skills, and cross-cultural exchange among students from different countries.
